President Abdel Fattah El Sisi emphasized pressing ahead with implementation of National Project for Regulating the Nile and removing all encroachments on the course of the Nile River.

During a meeting the president chaired Monday grouping Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Sweilem, Advisor to the Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Amir Sayed Ahmed, head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Walid Mohamed Aref and Executive Director of the Future of Egypt Sustainable Development Authority Bahaa el- Ghanam, the president stressed the need to diligently follow up on all developments related to agricultural projects, especially the New Delta Project, in close cooperation between the government and the Future of Egypt Sustainable Development Authority. 

Ongoing cooperation enhances efforts to develop agricultural production sector, aiming to achieve food security through strategic crops, said the president. 

President Sisi also highlighted the necessity of strengthening the principle of partnership with the private sector in the field of agricultural infrastructure, giving it scope to achieve a leap forward in these projects.

Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el-Shennawi said, the meeting addressed the latest developments regarding the executive status of the New Delta Project, in addition to maximizing utilization and improving efficiency of water resources to support national agricultural production projects. 

The executive director of the Future of Egypt Sustainable Development Authority presented the plan to launch new projects within the comprehensive agricultural development system.

The scheme included reclaiming new lands in the Al-Kufra area and along the Dakhla – Oweinat road, expected to be floated for tendering at the beginning of 2026. 

The spokesman further referred to studies being conducted pertaining to an agricultural project in Senegal, alongside other projects under study in a number of African countries.
