President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Monday in Abu Dhabi with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
President Sisi and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed toured the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence during which the Egyptian leader was briefed on the university’s facilities, departments, academic programs, and its pioneering innovations in advanced technology and artificial intelligence (AI), which contribute to supporting the UAE’s objectives in this field, Presidential Spokesperson Mohamed El Shennawy said.
The two leaders held a bilateral meeting over a working lunch, during which Sisi expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality and generous reception. He praised the unprecedented level of coordination, consultation, and cooperation achieved between the two countries across various fields, particularly in trade and investment.
In this regard, the president said Egypt was open to receive more Emirati investments, noting that relations between the two countries represent a fundamental pillar of Arab national security and regional stability.
For his part, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed welcomed President Sisi, noting the special nature of ties between the two nations and the UAE’s commitment to further advance bilateral relations to broader horizons, including in trade and investment.
The two leaders also discussed current regional developments, stressing the importance of Arab solidarity at this critical stage facing the Middle East. In the same context, they reviewed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the need for the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Strip and the full implementation of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan, as well as facilitating the unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, particularly with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan.
They also underscored the need to swiftly begin early recovery and reconstruction efforts in the Strip, asserting the importance of advancing a just and comprehensive peace process in the region based on the two-state solution, in a manner that ensures lasting peace, security, and regional stability.
In this regard, the two leaders affirmed the need to continue efforts to resolve crises facing the region through peaceful means, in a way that preserves the unity and territorial integrity of states and the resources of their peoples, and avoids any escalation in the region and its repercussions for all parties.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed then accompanied President Sisi to bid him farewell at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
