COPENHAGEN- Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Friday with CEO of A.P. Moller-Maersk Group Robert Maersk Uggla during his state visit to Denmark.
Uggla expressed gratitude to Sisi for the support provided by the Egyptian government to Maersk’s operations in the country.
He praised Cairo’s efforts to attract foreign investments across various sectors and its commitment to removing obstacles for companies operating in Egypt.
He also emphasized Maersk’s eagerness to strengthen collaboration and consider expanding its operations in Egypt.
Sisi commended the existing partnership with Maersk, expressing Egypt’s appreciation for the company’s efforts to upgrade several Egyptian container terminals to transform them into world-class hubs for container handling in the East and South Mediterranean.
He also lauded Maersk’s projects to produce and supply its vessels with green fuel, contributing to positioning Egypt as a regional center for the company’s operations in container trade and clean fuel production.
The meeting discussed ways to further develop cooperation and explore opportunities for Maersk to increase its investments in Egypt, ensuring mutual benefit for both sides.
