CAIRO – President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim reiterated on Thursday that any additional military moves would have catastrophic impact on the humanitarian condition in Gaza.
The also asserted that the International community should shoulder its legal, humanitarian and political responsibilities towards reaching a ceasefire and activating the two-state solution.
This came in a phone call between Sisi and the Malaysian prime minister where they expressed desire to boost economic, trade and investment cooperation in addition to the fields of cultural co-operation and educational exchange in light of the fraternal historic ties between both countries.
The call took up the Egyptian efforts to reach a ceasefire and allow the humanitarian aid supplies to the Gaza Strip, Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.
Sisi lauded the Malaysian keenness on participating in presenting aid supplies to the Gazans.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian prime minister was keen on asserting his country’s appreciation of Egypt’s leading role and managing the entrance of aid supplies to Gaza in spite of the hindrances and major difficulties with this respect.
He asserted his country’s support to the Egyptian intensified efforts to reach a ceasefire and lay down peace in the region.
