Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reiterated on Sunday the special deeply-rooted relations binding Egypt with the UAE since the era of Sheikh Zayed al Nuhuyyan.
He lauded the UAE’s constant support of Egypt at many fateful milestones.
Sisi made the remarks during his meeting with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah ben Zayed al Nuhuyyan in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, CEO of Abu Dhabi Development Holding Mohamed Hassan el Sweidi and UAE Ambassador in Cairo Mariam el Kaabi.
Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said the president welcomed Sheikh Abdullah’s visit to Egypt and reiterated the distinct deeply-rooted longstanding relations binding Egypt with the UAE.
Sheikh Abdullah reiterated keenness on boosting strategic relations between the two countries in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples and enhances security and stability in the region.
He pointed out to efforts exerted by Egypt to preserve peace and security at the regional level in light of the current challenges.
Talks tackled ways of furthering bilateral cooperation especially in the economic domain as well as increasing the UAE investments in Egypt, especially in the fields of energy, transport, tourism and ports, the spokesman said.
The two sides also tackled the latest regional developments as President Sisi underlined the important role played by the UAE to face challenges besetting the region.
The UAE minister lauded Egypt’s pivotal role in the region as being as a milestone of regional security and stability.
He also praised Egypt’s keenness on enhancing inter-Arab solidarity.
