president Abdel Fattah El Sisi said that the distinguished medical staff played a key role in limiting numbers of coronavirus infections and controlling many of the repercussions of Covi-19. They also saved the lives of thousands of infected people.
This came in a speech delivered on President Sisi’s behalf by presidential advisor for heath and preventive affairs Mohamed Awad Tag el-Din during the celebrations of the 43rd Doctor’s Day.
President Sisi added: “Doctors and medical personnel, whether those who suffered from the coronavirus infection and its repercussions or those who died while performing their professional and patriotic duty with courage, confidence, determination made great sacrifices. Their efficient and professional performance is appreciated by everyone.”
President Sisi added that the various generations of Egyptian doctors have managed with competence and professionalism and sacrifices to educate, learn and transfer their accumulated experience from one generation to another. They have also managed to localise all modern diagnostic and treatment technologies to provide the best medical and health care to citizens everywhere, he added.
Addressing the doctors, the president said: “The world, the region and the country have seen your distinctive abilities in knowledge, experience and performance.”
Addressing the same celebration, Minister of Health Hala Zayed thanked President Sisi for his continued support for medical staff in their fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
The minister also thanked the medical staff and praised their efforts in carrying out the presidential initiatives.
“You are the heroes of the Egyptian efforts in confronting the coronavirus,” Minister Zayed said.
