President Abdel Fattah El Sisi lauded Spain’s positive stances towards the issues of the region topped by the Palestinian cause, saying that this is reflected in the continuous coordination between the leaderships of both countries and their mutual vision for achieving peace in the region.
This came during Sisi’s meeting with Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and his accompanying delegation in presence of Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty in addition to the Spanish ambassador in Cairo.
The meeting tackled the latest developments in regional issues, Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.
Meanwhile, Albares pointed out to Spanish full support to the Egyptian efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and the allowing humanitarian aid supplies to the enclave, asserting Egypt’s pivotal regional role to stop the cycle of conflict and bring about peace and achieve stability.
The meeting tackled the importance of intensifying international efforts in the coming stage to stop continuous escalation and reach a comprehensive truce in Gaza and Lebanon in way that prevents deterioration of humanitarian situation and opens the way towards achieving peace on two-state solution basis.
The meeting asserted the depth of bilateral ties and means to boost them in the economic and investment fields.
