CAIRO – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has lauded high-level relations between Egypt and the UK in all fields.
President Sisi received a phone call Monday from UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, during which Sisi voiced Egypt’s desire to further increase co-operation and coordinate stances between the two countries during the coming period in light of current challenges at the regional and international levels.
Sisi encouraged British companies to engage in Egypt’s development projects in all areas and double the volume of their investments in the country, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
Johnson, for his part, said his country is keen on boosting relations with Egypt at the economic and trade levels.
Egypt is one of the most important partners for the UK in the Middle East and Africa, he added.
The talks also tacked the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and the coming COP27 conference, which will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh in November.
