CAIRO- Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said on Sunday the celebration of Labor Day is a great opportunity to stand on Egyptian laborers’ achievements in support of building their country.

In his speech marking the occasion of Labor Day that falls on May 1, the president congratulated all Egyptian workers on the approach of Eidul Fitr.

In a recorded speech on the occasion of Egyptian Labor Day, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said the Egyptian Labor Day is a real opportunity to review all progress Egyptian workers realized in contribution to building the New Republic.

It is a true chance to foresee the future of our workers, with a spirit full of hope and hard endeavors, for it is through strenuous work that nations are built, said the president

President Sisi said the world has recently witnessed many crises, most important of which the coronavirus pandemic, as workers bore the brunt of the pandemic, for many of them lost their jobs, as new modules of work fully incorporating modern technology came forth advocating advanced automated techniques, thus the State has given prior attention to devising digital transformation into the various sectors and services of the country.

The president highlighted the State’s efforts to support the most vulnerable social categories, through empowering them financially and offering cash grants for irregular workers, as well as mingling them into the State’s public sector, through providing different job opportunities.

He also underscored the State’s drives to pay irregular workers’ wages at struggling companies, through the Employees Emergency Fund.

The State has adopted a number of decisions and created advantages in favor of workers that helped overcome and assuage the untoward impact of the crisis, the president said.

President Sisi referred to international institutions hailing Egypt’s strides to address the financial crisis that gripped the world, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, considering Egypt an exemplary model in this respect.

President Sisi pointed out to recent world economic implications, that directly affected the world economic growth, thus prompting the government to adopt precautionary measures to protect the Egyptian economy and help it remain robust in face of all challenges.

The Egyptian State has been highly keen on shoring up achievements and giant ventures over the past seven years, with the aim of providing decent life for citizens, which contributed a great deal to the improvement of the quality of life of all citizens, said the president, adding that all efforts helped Egypt stand in the face of all crises.

Egyptians have always been quite aware, throughout the ages, of the importance of hard work and strive for the sake of promoting their country’s progress and welfare.

President Sisi said the upcoming stage requires serious work, with the aim of reaching a new vistas down the path of the future of our country, thus the State has advocated investment in human cadres through promoting individuals capabilities at the various intellectual and knowledge spheres.

He referred to the great progress Egypt realized in technical education and vocational training fields, in line with international standards in this regard, which was attested to by specialized leading world organization.

The president pointed out to his directives emphasizing on having training services reach all Egyptian villages and that all areas should have easy access to training programs through mobile training units touring Egyptian governorates.

He further underlined directives to curb unemployment, through offering job outlets at medium and small enterprises’ ventures, along with the State’s expansion in giant national projects.

The president said he ordered finalization of the country’s national strategy for employment, that run in line with the labor market needs and latest technological advances.

Meantime, President Sisi accentuated prior importance the State has attached to increasing the minimum rate of wages, as well as efforts to empower women in the labor market.
