CAIRO – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is committed to consolidating cooperation with Arab and African nations, and synergizing joint efforts to effectively clamp down on all forms of crimes in the Arab world and Africa, Prosecutor General Hamada el Sawy said Monday.
In his remarks during the opening session of an international conference on “the role of public prosecution authorities in combating cross-border crimes,” Sawy added the State renders all means of support to the public prosecution and all judicial bodies, while preserving total prosecutorial independence.
He noted the conference provides a platform to support joint action to ensure a speedy justice and buttress social national security across the Arab and African region.
Sawy emphasized the need to promote joint action to ensure an Afro-Arab community free of human trafficking, illegal migration, terrorism, money laundering, drug dealing, and all other forms of crimes, reiterating the Egyptian prosecution’s willingness to share its accumulated expertise and provide all necessary support to serve that end.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafy Ali El Gebali, Senate Speaker Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek, and Minister of Justice Amr Marwan attended the session, along with a galaxy of senior judicial and state officials.
The conference witnessed the signing of two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between the Africa Prosecutors Association (APA) and the Arab Association for Prosecutors (AAP).
