President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has emphasised Egypt’s full support for Iraq’s sovereignty, security, and stability, reaffirming the country’s solidarity with the Iraqi government in its efforts to protect Iraq from any regional conflicts that could threaten its stability.
The president also reiterated Egypt’s firm stance in rejecting and condemning any aggression against Iraq or any Arab state, as well as any infringement upon their sovereignty and security.
The president made these remarks during a telephone call he received on Sunday from Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohamed Shia’ al-Sudani, which focused on the latest regional developments, the Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy said in a statement.
He added that the two sides probed during the call ways to enhance joint Arab coordination to safeguard the security and sovereignty of Arab states and to address shared challenges.
In this context, Iraqi Prime Minister al-Sudani highlighted the measures taken by the Iraqi government to manage current tensions and expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s continued support for Iraq during this critical period, and for its commitment to the stability of Iraq and the broader Arab region.
