Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi flew to the Kingdom of Bahrain on Wednesday to participate in the 33rd Arab League Summit, held in Manama .
President Sisi’s participation in the summit comes within the framework of Egypt’s keenness to coordinate with the Arab brothers and unify positions and ranks, in light of the critical stage that the Arab region is going through, and the big challenges it faces at various levels, Presidency Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said. He added that the summit will discuss the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza, and efforts to calm the situation there to spare the blood of the Palestinians and protect them from the humanitarian catastrophe, which is worsening in light of the current Israeli military operations in the southern Gaza City of Rafah.
The summit will also address the situation in a number of sisterly Arab countries, and how to restore stability in the region amidst the major crises it is facing, as well as the successive changes at the international and regional levels. The summit will also discuss joint Arab action to support the path of development for the benefit of all Arab peoples.
The president is scheduled to hold a number of bilateral meetings with his fellow Arab leaders, on the sidelines of the summit, to discuss ways to boost co-operation and coordination mechanisms.
