President marks 52nd anniversary with wreath-laying ceremony

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi marked on Sunday the 52nd anniversary of October War victory by laying a wreath at the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier.

Upon arrival at the memorial, the President was welcomed by Defense Minister Abdel Meguid Saqr, Chief of Staff Ahmed Khalifa and commanders of the main branches of the Armed Forces.

The martyr’s anthem was played in appreciation of the sacrifices of the Egyptian martyrs to defend their homeland, Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el Shennawi said.

Also, President Sisi laid wreaths at the tombs of late presidents Anwar El Sadat and Gamal Abdel Nasser.

Sisi greeted family members of the late presidents, a host of veterans of the October War and senior armed forces officials.
