Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday extended his sincere greetings and appreciation to women of Egypt, saying that women are a source of pride for Egypt, the voice of conscience and a symbol of sacrifice and mercy.
The president’s remarks came in the speech he delivered to a ceremony celebrating Egyptian women and ideal mothers at Al Manara International Conference Centre on Monday, Presidency Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.
During his speech, the president said that his pride increases every year as he witnesses their achievements in all fields.
“Women, in all roles they undertake in society, have proven time after time that they are an inexhaustible source of sound awareness and a unique combination of mind and heart, objectivity and emotion, which has always made them a tremendous driving force for the homeland in its hardships,” the president said.
President Sisi said that Egyptian women deserve better and they deserve that the state and society make every effort to provide the appropriate conditions for preserving and promoting their rights and invigorating their role in all fields.
As a continuation of the path of supporting Egyptian women, President Sisi directed the government to issue a decision providing for the representation of women in the boards of directors of public establishments, business sector companies and their subsidiaries.

The president also called for boosting training activities for women with the aim of increasing the number of qualified women, to reach senior positions in the country.
He also urged expansion of training programmes in the fields of technology and digitisation, with the aim of increasing opportunities to empower women and their participation in job opportunities and future jobs.
The president also highlighted the importance of expanding support for digital savings and loan projects, in the national project for the development of the Egyptian families and various development programmes by building women’s capacities to implement small green projects and sustainable income-generating activities.
The president urged the government to support the legislative and institutional environment for small projects and women’s micro-finance by facilitating the procedures of banking and banking regulations.

He called for boosting women’s projects and their engagement in the activities of industrial complexes, with the aim of enhancing women’s contribution to the localisation of modern industry in Egypt.
He also decided to issue a presidential pardon for all debtors, men and women, who are serving sentences in reform and rehabilitation centres, and to release them before the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
Stressing the importance of the role of Egyptian women in protecting society and the state, the president said: “We will not forget that women, since 2013 until now, have played a major role in protecting Egypt recalling that women were on the frontlines, encouraging all their family members to take to the streets.
President Sisi paid tribute to women for having borne the difficult circumstances that the country has gone through as well as for the burden they shoulder in raising children.
The president awarded the Medal of Perfection and certificates of appreciation to some ideal mothers and distinguished role models.
