Sisi hails Qatar’s major role in facing Arab challenges

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi hailed on Tuesday Qatar’s major role in facing the Arab nation’s challenges, stressing the strong bonds between Egypt and Gulf’s security.

Sisi was speaking during his meeting with Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri, Head of the General Intelligence Service (GIS) Abbas Kamel, Head of the Qatari State Security Service, Abdullah Al-Khulaifi, and Qatari Ambassador in Cairo Salem bin Mubarak Al-Shafi, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

The president valued the remarkable progress in Egyptian-Qatari relations, which will serve the two countries’ peoples’ interests, asking for conveying his greetings to Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed lauded Egypt’s pivotal role in the region as a main pillar for the Arab world’s security and stability, as well as its keenness to bolster solidarity among the Arab countries.

Sheikh Mohammed conveyed the Qatari emir’s greetings to Sisi, appreciating the president’s efforts to enhance the Arab joint action and maintain regional peace and security.

The meeting tackles ways of fostering relations at different levels and other regional issues of common interest.
