Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has expressed greetings to King Abdullah II of Jordan on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the kingdom’s establishment and emphasised that it is also an opportunity to renew the mutual commitment to boost joint action, coordinate efforts to push forward the march of bilateral relations.

In a statement he delivered Sunday, President Sisi noted that such commitment also involves the prospecting of further chances for co-operation in the realisation of security, stability, prosperity, peace and development for all peoples and countries of the region, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.

“We truly recall the pivotal role of Jordan on the Arab and Islamic arenas and what the kingdom has done to support the Palestinian people and their just cause,” President Sisi said in his statement, adding that Egypt recalls Jordan’s permanent siding with it and the backing it has lent to Egypt regarding the issues that affect it.

President Sisi also noted that such orientation emanates from the historical and close ties that unite Egypt and Jordan on both official and popular levels.

Elaborating, President Sisi said that it has been proven beyond any doubt that the strategic accord between Egypt and Jordan is capable of dealing with all challenges, especially since such accord stems from the long historical ties between the two countries.

Concluding his statement, President Sisi conveyed the Egyptian people’s congratulations to the king, government and people of Jordan, wishing King Abdullah II and the brotherly people of Jordan more peace, prosperity and stability to maintain co-operation and coordination for the good of the two countries as well as the good of the Arab nation.
