President Abdel Fattah El Sisi made a phone call with Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni to congratulate him on his re-election for a new presidential term.

Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy said that President Sisi extended congratulations to Museveni for his victory in the presidential elections, which reflects the Ugandan people’s confidence in his wise leadership, lauding the depth of the historical relations between Egypt and Uganda.

President Sisi said Egypt is keen to boost relations with Uganda, through building on the positive momentum witnessed in bilateral ties in recent years, as well as on the outcome of Museveni’s visit to Cairo in August 2025.

For his part, the Ugandan president expressed great appreciation for Sisi’s congratulations, underlining the importance of strengthening relations. President Museveni extended an invitation to the Egyptian leader to visit Uganda, spokesman Shennawy said.
