Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi congratulated Monday his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on his re-election.
In a phone call to extend his congratulations, Sisi asserted the historical ties binding both countries and peoples.
The two sides have also agreed to work for bolstering bilateral co-operation.
They also agreed on the immediate start of upgrading diplomatic relations and exchanging ambassadors, according to Presidency spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.
Erdogan thanked President for his kind gesture.
