Cairo- Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted on Thursday Egypt’s backing for all efforts aimed at accelerating a political settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
This came during a phone call Sisi has received from Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskyy who briefed the Egyptian president on the latest developments on the Ukrainian arena as well as updates of the negotiations track.
Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radhi said that President Sisi reiterated the necessity of opting for dialogue and finding out political solutions for the crisis.
Sisi also noted that Egypt has been following up the field developments with deep concern especially their impact on the humanitarian situation, voicing his appreciation for the steps taken by Ukraine to ease the exit of Egyptian students from the country and ensure their safety and security, the spokesman added.
Meanwhile, Zelenskyy voiced his appreciation and gratitude for Egypt’s efforts to host the Ukrainian tourists at Egyptian tourist resorts and offer them all possible help since the start of the Ukrainian-Russian crisis along with easing their return to countries neighboring Ukraine, the spokesman said
