BERLIN – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has affirmed that Egypt is keen to continue promoting economic and trade co-operation with Germany’s business community and companies.
The Egyptian leader made the remarks during a roundtable meeting bringing together business community representatives and heads of major industrial companies in Germany.
A host of senior German officials took part in the roundtable, which was held in the presence of the ministers of foreign affairs, electricity and renewable energy, planning and economic development, petroleum and mineral resources, transport, as well as trade and industry, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
Sisi affirmed that Egypt is keen to boost joint investments with Germany’s business community and companies to help support the country’s economic development and make use of the opportunities available in both countries.
The president praised the positive developments witnessed by Egypt-Germany economic and trade relations over the past few years.
He pointed out to various investment opportunities offered by ongoing mega projects in Egypt, topped by the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
Sisi also praised the role played by major German companies in bolstering economic and trade relations between both countries.
Meanwhile, participants in the meeting lauded Egypt’s great efforts to achieve economic reform and take measures to speed up the development process in the country.
