President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had a phone call on Wednesday with Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh.
Presidents Sisi and Guelleh stressed their commitment to bolstering bilateral ties, advancing joint co-operation in various files, with focus on the economic sector, investment and trade exchange. They also vowed to maintain bilateral consultation and coordination on regional issues of common interest, Presidency Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.
The phone talks addressed developments pertaining to a number of African issues, as the two leaders affirmed continuation of joint action to consolidate co-operation between the two countries in the region, and bolster stability and respect for sovereignty of states, within the framework of efforts aiming at fulfilling aspirations of peoples of the region for development and prosperity, the spokesman added.
They also touched on developments in the Red Sea region, and means to ensure stability and safety of maritime navigation.
In addition, Sisi and Guelleh discussed ways to promote co-operation among African countries within the framework of the African Union, in a manner that would respond to their development priorities, and achieves interests of their peoples.
