CAIRO – Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi gave on Wednesday directives to increase the exceptional subsidy under the ration card system from EGP 100 to EGP 300 in a bid to help the most vulnerable families.
Also, Sisi gave directives to gear up for new social protection measures that will benefit one million families as of September.
The new presidential directives include pumping EGP 32 billion to boost the subsidized bread system and increasing the number of families included in “Takaful and Karama” cash support program from 4.1 million to 5 million.
