Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi issued directives to continue efforts aimed at improving the living conditions of imams, preachers and scholars and sustaining training programs for qualifying them at the scientific and cultural levels.

President Sisi also gave instructions to carefully consider an initiative to resume the activities of kuttabs (Quranic schools) and see how they affect in nurturing generations.

The president made the remarks during his meeting on Monday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Awqaf Minister Osama el Azhary, said Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El Shennawy.

The Awqaf minister briefed the president on ongoing efforts to hone the skills of imams in delivering sermons and enhance the process of building sound religious awareness, in addition to renewing the religious discourse.

The spokesman stated that the meeting took up the plan for developing El Doaah Hospital to make a quantum leap in health services offered to patients.
