Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed the regular payment of financial dues to companies contracted with the state in the petroleum and gas sector.

Sisi was chairing a high-level meeting Saturday, bringing together Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt Hassan Abdullah, Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk, and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Kareem Badawi.

Sisi emphasized the importance of continuing and intensifying government efforts to meet citizens’ needs across various sectors and to boost initiatives aimed at driving economic growth and national income, thereby building a strong and investment-attractive economy.

The meeting discussed government efforts to ensure the state’s supply of petroleum products, including those necessary for development projects.

It also addressed securing the funding required for the sector’s efficient and sustainable operations.

Additionally, the meeting reviewed progress in increasing domestic petroleum and gas production, with Sisi stressing the importance of integrating new discovered wells into the production map, as well as intensifying exploration activities in Egypt’s onshore and offshore regions.

The meeting also addressed updates on collaboration between the government, international companies, and local investors in the petroleum and gas sectors.

The discussions covered efforts to attract private sector investments and steps taken to expand regional cooperation in petroleum and gas, opening new horizons for partnerships and investments in the future.
