Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has directed officials to intensify efforts aimed at upgrading the Egyptian industry as a steering wheel for achieving a comprehensive economic progress that would have an impact on other sectors.
This came during Sisi’s meeting on Sunday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir.
During the meeting, Sisi ordered continuing efforts to empower the private industrial sector, removing any hardships facing its activities and businesses along with offering incentives and facilitation to the industrial investment with the aim of achieving the optimum benefits whether at the level of expanding the local components or achieving high revenues for Egyptian economy and citizens.
Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said the meeting also covered following up the implementation of a national strategy for the development of industry as well as the future vision embraced by the state to up growth rates of the sector and increase its share in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), in addition to upping the volume of industrial exports.
In this regard, President Sisi was briefed on the latest developments to set up integrated industrial zones, support transformational industries, as well as knowing the list of top priority fields in which Egypt could have manufacturing bases and enjoy competitive privileges at the regional and international levels.
