Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Thursday issued directives for promoting efforts of the National Service Projects Organization of the Armed Forces (NSPO) in various basic sectors in the State in coordination with government agencies; in a way that helps improve economic returns.
This can be achieved through proper utilization of resources nationwide, forming diverse agricultural and industrial communities, as well as providing new job opportunities, Sisi told NSPO Director General Walid Abul Magd and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Company for General Construction Karam Salem during their meeting.
The meeting touched on NSPO’s current and future projects throughout the country, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
During the meeting, Abul Magd reviewed the overall projects carried out by NSPO, especially in the fields of health, housing, irrigation and electricity.
NSPO is implementing a total of 227 projects for the State this year at a total value of EGP 100 billion, the official said.
Abul Magd briefed the president on planned cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education as regards benefiting from the US long-standing experience in the academic area of software and technology applications.
He also talked about ongoing work at the second phase of reclaiming land as part of the Toshka Project in South Valley.
