Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has directed the continuation of state efforts to revive Cairo’s historic and heritage sites and develop surrounding areas to enhance their tourism appeal.
He also ordered the implementation of a “Greening Cairo” project to transform vacant land into green spaces, the presidency said.
Egypt, Bahrain discuss efforts to contain regional tensions
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Bahraini counterpart Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani discussed efforts to contain regional tensions during a phone call on Saturday, Egypt’s foreign ministry said.
Abdelatty, who is also minister of international co-operation and Egyptians abroad, reaffirmed Egypt’s “full solidarity” with Bahrain in confronting any threats to its security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
