Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed Saturday continuing the efforts of clearing and developing the Lake Manzala along with other lakes nationwide.
Sisi’s instructions came during his meeting with Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli, Presidential Assistant for National and Strategic Projects Sherif Ismail, Water Resources Minister Mohamed Abdel Atti, Local Development Minister Mahmoud Shaarawi, Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfiq, Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad, Housing Minister Asem el Gazzar, and Agriculture Minister Sayed el Quseir.
The president stressed the importance of developing the marinas and fishing boats at these lakes, as well as establishing urban and tourist areas in an attempt to support the residents of these areas and raising their standards of living, presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said.
The meeting reviewed the efforts of developing the Lake Manzala through several environmental perspectives, including the fish wealth, marine transport, tourism and the social and economic aspects.
The talks also reviewed proposals for developing and making use of investment potentials at Lake Manzala to achieve sustainable development there.
