Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen conferred over phone on yesterday to discuss the ongoing military escalation in the Gaza Strip.
The two leaders stressed the gravity of the situation and the need to avoid an escalation that could have regional implications for security and stability. They also agreed on the importance of improving the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
President Sisi said that the only way out of the current critical situation is to work toward reaching a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue based on a two-state solution. He also called for an immediate ceasefire to stop the military operations that have targeted civilians in Gaza.
Prime Minister Frederiksen expressed her profound appreciation for Egypt’s relentless efforts to resolve the crisis, which culminated in hosting the Cairo summit for peace.
President Sisi stressed that Egypt will continue its endeavors to coordinate regional and international efforts to deliver urgent humanitarian and relief aid to Gaza Strip in order to spare the Palestinian people further suffering.
