Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Tuesday a phone call from his Cypriot counterpart Nicos Anastasiades.
The two leaders discussed a raft of regional issues and means of promoting bilateral relations in various fields, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
Anastasiades expressed his keenness on coordinating with Sisi on regional issues of mutual concern.
Sisi, for his part, said that Egypt is looking forward to cooperating with Cyprus in the fields of security, defense, economy and energy.
The talks also tackled ways to coordinate efforts with Egypt as a major partner of the European Union in the field of combating terrorism, extremism and illegal migration.
