Cairo – President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has extended his warmest congratulations to Pope Leo XIV on his recent election as the new head of the Roman Catholic Church. In a message shared on his official Facebook page on Thursday, President Sisi conveyed his sincere wishes for the Pope’s success in his new spiritual mission.

“Your Holiness Pope Leo XIV, I am pleased to extend my heartfelt congratulations and sincere wishes on the occasion of your election as Pope of the Vatican. I wish Your Holiness every success and prosperity in your blessed mission,” the President wrote.

President Sisi expressed his confidence in Pope Leo XIV’s ability to continue the Church’s legacy of promoting peace, compassion, and shared human values. “I am fully confident that Your Holiness will carry forward the legacy of promoting peace and love, upholding noble values and ethics, and rejecting violence, hatred, and war,” he said.

The President also emphasized Egypt’s commitment to fostering interfaith dialogue and cooperation, expressing his hope to work closely with the Vatican under the new papacy. “I am pleased that we will work together for a better world marked by peace, development, stability, tolerance, and mutual respect,” he added.

President Sisi concluded his message by offering his best wishes for the Pope’s health and continued success.

Pope Leo XIV was elected following the conclave held at the Vatican, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the Catholic Church. His election comes at a time of global challenges, with expectations high for leadership rooted in compassion, inclusivity, and moral clarity.
