Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Sunday congratulated the Egyptian people and the Arab and Muslim world on the occasion of celebrating Prophet Mohamed’s birthday anniversary, stressing the importance of spreading the tolerant teachings of religion to preserve the noble principles and values of Islam.
The President’s remarks came in his speech during the celebration of the Prophet’s birthday anniversary, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
In his speech, the President asserted that building any nation’s awareness of a correct structure is one of the most important factors for its stability and progress in the face of those who take words out of context and spread destructive ideas that undermine the ability of human beings in correct thinking and creativity.
“Therefore, it is necessary for us to continue with this historical mission and responsibility and to redouble the efforts undertaken by religious institutions and their eminent scholars to spread the values of tolerance and coexistence, belief in intellectual and ideological diversity and acceptance of the other and to correct misconceptions,” the President said.
The President highlighted in this regard that Egypt is proceeding with its mission to build awareness and correct religious discourse.
The President added that one of the principles of the message of Islam spread by Prophet Mohamed is to achieve coexistence and social peace among human beings and the right of all people to a dignified life.
“If we take these precious principles as a beacon and a course of action, I say to all Egyptians that we are going together to build our dear homeland, Egypt, so that its present and future become as great as its history and civilization,” President said.
