President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting yesterday with Minister of Defence and Military Production Mohamed Zaki and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Mohamed Farid, along with a host of senior army commanders.
The president discussed plans of the General Command of the Armed Forces to upgrade and raise the efficiency of the different branches of the Egyptian army, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
He added that the president and the top army commanders also discussed plans for raising the standards of the training of the different units of the Armed Forces in the light of the latest training and armament techniques.
The president also received updates about the participation of units of the army in the presidential Decent Life initiative, which aims to develop thousands of villages of the countryside nationwide in several stages.
The president also received updates about 
co-operation between the army and the different state institutions with the aim of speeding up the implementation of the initiative, using the latest equipment to achieve the cherished goals.
President Sisi underscored the importance of abidance by the time frame of the initiative’s implementation as this would benefit the residents of these villages and contribute to achieving sustainable development in the Egyptian countryside.
Following the meeting, President Sisi inspected some multitask armed vehicles that were manufactured inside the Egyptian army’s factories. The president was accompanied during the tour by the minister of defence and the chief of staff of the army.
The president also listened to a detailed explanation about the different stages of the vehicle manufacturing process as well as information about the different tests the vehicles had undergone so far.
The manufacture of the vehicles followed the highest quality standards, Ambassador Radi said.
