Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Sunday chaired a meeting of the National Security Council.
The meeting reviewed regional developments, especially the military escalation in the Gaza Strip, Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.
He added that the meeting issued the following decisions; mainting contacts with international and regional partners towards de-escalation and stopping targeting civilian targets, along with intensifying contacts with international regional relief organizations to ensure the delivery of required aid.
The decisions entail; Assertion that the two-state solution is the sole solution to the Palestinian issue and affirming rejection and denunciation of the displacement policy or any attempts to settle the Palestinian issues at the expense of neighboring countries.
Also among the council’s decisions are Egypt’s readiness to make any efforts meant to restore calm and resume a real peace process, underscoring that Egypt’s national security is a red line and no effort will spared in protecting it, as well as calling for hosting an international-regional summit by Egypt to address updates and the fate of the Palestinian issue
