Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday presided over a meeting of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces.
At the beginning of the meeting, Sisi extended his greetings to the Egyptian people and personnel of the Armed Forces on the occasion of the 6th of October War anniversary.
Sisi also paid tribute to the souls of martyrs and the injured people who sacrificed their lives in protecting the nation and preserving its territories, asserting that the Egyptian people appreciate the role of the Armed Forces in preserving the safety and security of the homeland.
Earlier in the day, Sisi laid a wreath of flowers on the Armed Forces Martyrs Memorial in Nasr City to mark the 50th anniversary of October War victory.
Sisi also laid wreaths on the tombs of late president Anwar Al Sadat in Nasr City and late president Gamal Abdel Nasser in Kobri el Kobba and shook hands with a number of their family members.
