CAIRO- President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau reviewed Sunday the latest developments of the ongoing military escalation in Gaza.
During a phone call with the Canadian official, Sisi emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire to end unprecedented humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, according to Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.
Sisi also highlighted Egypt’s efforts to provide and facilitate delivery of humanitarian aid into the besieged enclave, which was applauded by the Canadian premier who asserted his country’s willingness to contribute to relief efforts.
The two sides agreed on the importance of ensuring safe access to humanitarian aid to save the people of Gaza, while making serious efforts to revive peace talks between Palestinians and Israelis to reach a two-state solution.
