President Abdel Fattah El Sisi called upon heads of specialised agricultural companies involved in the “Future of Egypt” project to increase their investments in the project and directed officials to deal with any obstacles that may arise in this regard by strengthening coordination and co-operation between the various relevant authorities.
The president’s remarks came as he met with a number of heads of specialised agricultural companies involved in the project while inspecting the site of the project, which aims to increase agricultural production in the Western Desert.
The president also inspected the seasonal harvest of various agricultural crops in the project, which is being carried out according to the latest modern agricultural technology methods, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
The president also had a meeting with a number of media professionals on the site of the “Future of Egypt” project, during which he explained the added value of the project as it aims to increase the arable land area in Egypt, achieve food security and provide job opportunities in various specialisations.
This will have broad positive impact on Egypt’s efforts to achieve comprehensive development and provide a decent life and a better future for the Egyptian people, the president added.
The “Future of Egypt” project is part of the mega “New Delta” project, along the new Rod al-Farag / Dabaa corridor, near Sphinx and Borg el-Arab Airport, Dekheila and Alexandria ports, which will help facilitate the delivery of production supplies and finished products.
It also seeks to be an attractive agricultural destination to investors, as it targets the development of the western North Coast through the establishment of new agricultural and urban communities marked by proper governance systems.
It will also see the establishment of industrial communities that are founded on full-fledged agricultural production and several stages of crop cultivation and harvest using the latest mechanisms and then sorting, packing and production.
The Future of Egypt project will provide over 200,000 new job opportunities, the statement said.
