Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday called for the establishment of an integrated industrial complex to localise the production of prosthetics and prosthetic devices for people with special abilities, in cooperation with reputable foreign companies in this field, in order to support citizens with special needs and help them lead a normal daily life.
The President’s remarks came during his meeting yesterday with Prime Minister MoustafaMadbouli as well as a host of ministers and top government officials, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
During the meeting, the President reviewed the state’s efforts, through all the various relevant agencies, to develop a comprehensive vision for the establishment of an industrial complex for prosthetics and prosthetic devices in Egypt, in accordance with the latest international technological and medical standards. The meeting reviewed the outcome of contacts with various international companies.
The President also directed the government to give due attention to honing the skills of human cadres, reviewing databases on the number of beneficiaries and the volume of local demand. He also called for discussing opportunities to involve the Egyptian private sector in this field.
The meeting reviewed also the outcome of field visits abroad to get acquainted with the latest developments and advances in this field as a prelude for the establishment of the complex, through several main axes, the most important of which are the production of high-quality components, technology transfer, industry localisation, and the promotion of scientific research and development.
