Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Tuesday the Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency William Burns in the presence of the Head of the Egyptian Intelligence Service Abbas Kamel.
President Sisi affirmed during the meeting the strength of the Egyptian American strategic partnership, Presidency Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.
The meeting included a review of developments in the current situation in Gaza, with the two sides confirming that intensive consultation and coordination would continue to achieve the goals of the ceasefire, protect civilians, and activate the two-state solution, in a way that enhances efforts to establish security and stability in the region.
For his part, Burns conveyed the greetings of President Biden to President Sisi and his appreciation for Egypt’s tireless efforts in advancing the path of calm in the Gaza Strip, reaching ceasefire and exchanging detainees, in addition to its continuous pivotal role in providing and delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip since the outbreak of the crisis.
