Upon his arrival, the president was received by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Minister of Defense and Military Production Lieutenant General Abdel Maguid Saqr and a number of the military’s top brass.
The symposium comes as part of national events that aim to enhance the national spirit and highlight the heroism of the Egyptian Armed Forces in protecting the homeland and achieving the October victory.
The symposium started with verses of the holy Quran recited by Sheikh Mohammed Ahmed Shabib at dawn of October 6, 1973 on the Quran Radio station.
Afterwards, actress Sahar El Sayegh, actor Mohamed Gomaa and a group of children presented an acting show on the 6th of October War victory.
A documentary narrated by actor Yehia El-Fakharany on the country’s conditions after the 1967 War was displayed at the symposium.
The documentary showed testimonies from a number of heroes of the armed forces in the October War, where they spoke about the battle of “Ras Al-Esh”, which inflicted heavy losses on the Israeli enemy forces, in addition to the airstrikes that targeted Israeli occupation forces in Sinai within the framework of the War of Attrition.
