Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted the big responsibility shouldered by the Arab councils and parliaments to push forward the march of Arab integration to achieve the aspiration of the peoples to bring about peace, development and stability, highlighting the important role of the parliaments to defend just Arab issues in different regional and international gatherings.
This came during Sisi’s reception to the speakers of Arab councils and parliaments participating in the 6th Arab Parliament Conference held in Cairo.
Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said that the speakers of the Arab councils and parliaments were keen on greeting President Sisi on taking the constitutional oath for a new term of presidency.
Sis lauded the role of the Arab Parliament in discussing a number of important issues topped by artificial intelligence, asserting Egypt’s full support to promoting the joint Arab action at all levels.
The meeting tackled the situation in the region and the current challenges that necessitate unifying the stances, gathering the Arab states in face of regional crises and supporting the entity of a national state to achieve security, stability and development of the Arab nations, Fahmy said.
The meeting also tackled the latest development in Palestine, Fahmy said, adding that the speakers of the Arab parliaments lauded the Egyptian pivotal role in supporting the Palestinians.
President Sisi reviewed the Egyptian efforts to ease the situation in Gaza and protect the region from expanding the conflict, asserting that the priority is to stop the Palestinian bloodshed via intensified action with the different international and regional parties to reach a ceasefire, exchange the prisoners, allow enough relief supplies to ease the increasing humanitarian crisis in the enclave.
Sisi asserted the continuation of intensified efforts at the different levels to support the Palestinians.
