CAIRO – Egyptian Foreign Minister and president-designate of the United Nations (UN) Climate Change Summit (COP27) Sameh Shoukry took part on Monday at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, currently in session from May 22-26, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said on his Tweeter account.
Shoukry is scheduled to participate in the event at the forum under the title “The Road to the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP27) to the UNFCCC: Partnerships between the public and private sectors in climate action in the Middle East and North Africa,” said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Hafez in a statement.
The Egyptian minister is also scheduled to meet with a number of senior officials from various countries and parties participating in the forum on the sidelines of its activities, to consult on the ongoing work to prepare for COP 27 that would be held in the Egyptian city Sharm el-Sheikh on November 7-18.
