Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held talks with his Hungarian counterpart Péter Szijjártó on the sidelines of the United Nations (UN) Security Council’s meeting on Palestine in New York.
In a tweet on “X” account Wednesday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said, the two sides discussed efforts meant to end violence and stop any further escalation in Gaza, as well as ways to ensure safe and unimpeded flow of humanitarian assistance into the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, the Egyptian foreign minister took part in the Security Council Ministerial Meeting on the Situation in the Middle East.
Brazail, the holder of the 15-nation organ’s rotating presidency for October has called for holding the meeting.
