Shoukry holds talks with WMO secretary general

CAIRO – Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, the president-designate of the United Nations (UN) Climate Change Summit (COP27) held a session of talks Sunday at the Foreign Ministry headquarters with Petteri Taalas, Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said the meeting dealt with cooperation with WTO in light of Egypt’s hosting COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh late this year.

According to Hafez, talks also tackled the issues of water and the climate in light of the world’s interest in the adaptation to the climate change and scarcity of water.
