CAIRO – Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry Sunday discussed with European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza strip as well as needed action to halt the Israeli war and military operation in the Palestinian city of Rafah.
The two sides tackled mechanisms to level up bilateral strategic partnership between Egypt and the EU, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
He added that Shoukry and Borrell discussed preparations for holding Egyptian-EU investment conference, slated for June.
Earlier in the day, Shoukry left for Brussels from Paris to take part in the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council meeting with the participation of a number of Arab foreign ministers and the Secretary General of the Arab League to discuss the situation in Gaza.
