CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker discussed Monday with Djibouti’s Minister of Energy Younes Ali Gedi and his accompanying delegation ways of supporting and boosting bilateral co-operation in the field of electricity and renewable energy.
In statements, Shaker commended distinguished relations binding Egypt and African countries.
He added the meeting probed potentials of the Egyptian electricity and renewable energy sector.
The Egyptian official highlighted achievements made by this vital sector in the country, saying the sector is paying a greater attention to expanding the usage of renewable energies.
The minister pointed out to big challenges facing Egypt in providing energy in local markets, in addition to efforts exerted by the Egyptian electricity sector to secure the sustainability of energy supply to meet development requirements.
In turn, Gedi hailed depth and strength of relations between the two countries, saying his country is looking forward to increasing vistas of cooperation with Egypt in the renewable energy domain.
