Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el Sisi and Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a bilateral session of talks in Ankara on Wednesday, to be followed by plenary talks with both countries’ delegations attending.
The first meeting of the high-level Strategic Cooperation Council is scheduled to kick off soon in the presence of the two leaders.
It will review all aspects of Turkish-Egyptian relations and discuss future steps to enhance bilateral cooperation, following the joint declaration signed during President Erdoğan’s visit to Cairo on February 14/2024.
The two leaders will exchange views on current regional and international issues, particularly with a focus on Israeli attacks on Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.
Agreements will be signed to enhance bilateral relations, to be followed by a joint press conference.
