BELGRADE – First Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Branko Ruzic lauded Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s tireless efforts to combat terrorism.
Delivering a speech during a celebration held Thursday to award an honourary doctorate from Belgrade University to President Sisi, Ruzic said Egypt was able to achieve successes over the past years under the wise leadership of President Sisi.
He, meanwhile, hailed as “successful” the political stances adopted by President Sisi.
Commending Egypt’s crucial role in several spheres, particularly in confronting terrorism and countering emerging terrorist organisations, the Serbian minister further said that President Sisi was able to confront terrorism due to the absence of foreign military bodies trying to interfere in the affairs of the country.
The Serbian education minister also cited President Sisi’s efforts in showing Islam as a religion with values of tolerance.
President Sisi also exerted strenuous efforts to combat poverty and improve economy and education, added the Serbian minister.
He further launched several initiatives aiming to attaining peace, said the Serbian minister, pointing out to President Sisi’s outstanding efforts to promote his country’s ties with Serbia, especially in the educational sphere.
For his part, the President of Belgrade University said he was proud to personally hand over the honorary doctorate to President Sisi.
He further pointed out to the co-operation between Cairo University and Belgrade University in the various educational spheres.
