A delegation from the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) is planning to visit India in June aiming to attract Indian investments.
Arrangements for the SCZoen India’s tour were at the core of a meeting held on Monday between SCZone Chairman Walid Gamal Eddin and the Indian Ambassador in Cairo Ajit Gupte.
The India visit will be the second of knocking the doors of the Asian investment markets after a Japan tour in February.
The visiting delegation will review the investment opportunities available at the SCZone in various sectors, foremost of which is the auto and the pharmaceutical industries, green hydrogen. They will also cover other industries sought to be localised at SCZone, a press release stated.
During the meeting with the Indian envoy, the SCZone chief said that the authority gives great attention to co-operation with the Indian side, citing the good bilateral relations, and the Indian investments in Egypt.
Gamal Eddin also pointed to the industrial and service sectors of common interest, saying the zone is giving large attention to 21 economic sectors, foremost of which is green fuel and its complementary and feeding industries. He also said that the authority is seeking to localise pharmaceutical industries and medical supplies, highlighting India’s remarkable progress in these fields.
