CAIRO – Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) Walid Gamal El-Din said the zone targets increasing South Korea’s investments in the coming period, especially as the economic area enjoys a strong infrastructure and a unique geographical location for exporting Korean investments to African and European markets.

His remarks came during his meeting with new South Korean Ambassador to Egypt Kim Yong-hyon at the SCZONE’s premises in the New Administrative Capital, according to a statement released by the zone.

Gamal El-Din added the SCZONE has an attractive and stimulating business climate, noting the zone seeks to attract Korean investments into some industrial sectors, such as the auto industry, green fuel and ship bunkering, the statement added.

On his part, the South Korean ambassador welcomed a planned visit by a SCZONE delegation to South Korea in October to inform the Korean business community about available investment opportunities in the zone.

Yong-hyon said his country looks forward to enhancing trade and investment relations with Egypt in different areas.
